Description:

The Cabin Creek Project is the first of three projects covered under the Five Creeks Environmental Assessment. The project is located directly south of the town of Truckee, west of Highway 89 South. This project area contains critical infrastructure including private residences, the Eastern Regional Landfill, and significant recreation. Highway 89 South is a key transportation corridor between Lake Tahoe and Interstate 80. To enhance public safety, reduce potential wildfire severity, and restore forest health in this area, the project will complete forest restoration, fuels reduction, and habitat enhancement.
